Italian Purple Garlic (Available Oct-Apr)
A hard neck variety originally from Italy and is believed to have been cultivated by the Italian communities of Leeton and Griffiths in NSW in the 1970s. Italian purple garlic taste is hot and strong to start off with, rich, sweet and nutty flavours when roasted.
Provides deliciously strong flavour when used in pasta sauces or slow cook marinades. It also tastes great when minced and layered onto warm bread served with butter.
Planted in April and harvested fresh from our paddocks each October this garlic will store for 5+ months if kept in an open paper bag or wire mesh basket in your pantry.
